My last blog was at the end of the year and it was fun to look back and see all the amazing events and activities from 2019. I have a feeling 2020 will be just as remarkable and challenging. Let's hope so!
I'm thankful for the Alzheimer's Assoc and their support and for my weekly support group in their office. I'm thankful for the opportunities they've given me to use my voice and share my story. It's hard to keep going every day and keep a smile on my face, but knowing that I'm helping others brings me strength and my family always makes sure I'm ok and not doing too much💜
We had a really fun Christmas season this year and I haven't mentioned it so I wanted to make sure it got into my blog. Which also means it gets into my long term memory!
We spent some holiday fun with Phil, Elizabeth, Jonny, Phil and Ben up in Sparks a few days after Christmas. It was a wonderful weekend and even though it was really cold we had a blast. Benjamin is so smart and so fun and I'm grateful we were able to get up there. On our way home we stopped at my brother Bob's house in Auburn. Jonny came with us and we had lunch with him and Carol. I was so happy to see them, their kitties and to finally see their new house.
We were able to spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Ryan and Kristen, and Celly too of course. Ryan's mom & dad hosted Christmas Eve at their house with all of their family. It was a little overwhelming for me but everyone was very nice and the food was fabulous. Christmas morning we exchanged gifts and took some fun pictures!
Celly was very happy to be part of the celebration! Bob and I went home after that and spent the rest of the day together. We opened our gifts and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Family time is great but so is time alone and some good snuggles with Rusty on the couch🐱
Earlier this month we had the pleasure of attending my cousin Jim Bonde's wedding. He and his beautiful bride Kathy were married at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. That venue was special, especially since Jim's mom, my Aunt Susie got married there many many years ago! It was so great to see everyone. Especially my Aunt Nancy! She's 92 years old, definitely has dementia but she knew me and all the rest of our family. She remembered Bob too! Time with her was a gift and I hope to see her the next time we're in Fresno. Family is EVERYTHING💗

I've had two infusions this month too. First one was Jan 6th and the second one was just a few days ago, Jan 27th. Both of them went well. They were able to find my vein but it did take a few tries. All the nurses are so nice and they do the best they can to make the experience pain free. I made cookies for everyone again. This time I made chocolate chip! They were very delicious and I'm glad to bring them snacks. They are all so kind and make these clinical trials almost pleasant!
Had a great lunch with two of my Intel buddies - JeanAnn and Melaine. We had a great time and a fabulous lunch at True Food Kitchen. I just love my lunch dates! Thank you ladies 😍 A few weeks later I had another date with my good buddy Rebecca. Time out and about with my friends always lifts me up and I am so thankful for all of your continued friendships.
I spent a few days in SLO with Bob and that was fun. Getting there was a real pain thanks to travel delays but I survived. I made the most of being alone at SFO and watched some quality TV on my iPad, aka Grey's Anatomy😊 I'm thankful that I can still travel alone and navigate the airports without any stress.
Next week Bob and I will be in Sacramento for our State Advocacy Day. I'm looking forward to that and I'm sure we will be posting photos and sending updates via twitter. We will be home for the Super Bowl this Sunday and that's just fine with me. I enjoy the comfort of our home and can't really handle crowds anymore. Go 9ers🏈🏈!!!
So that's my update this month. I hope you all had a great January and that you continue to surround yourself with friends and family. Love and blessings to all of you, thank you for your prayers, support and here's to an amazing 2020💜🙏💥
